I joined the SMP, and shortly after, Polak joined, but he wouldn't respond, which I found to be odd.
Then another user started talking, (His name was Mordecai or something similar.) and said he was griefing the server; I asked him if he was serious, he said yes; I used the /say command and told him that he'd better stop. (I realize that this falls under the category of impersonating an op, and I'm sorry, but I think Polak would have gave the same warning.) He called me a faggot, and continued to taunt me so I tried to boot him, but it said that he wasn't there.
I used the /list command, it showed that the only connected users were me and Polak, so I figured that this guy wasn't the average griefer, so I stopped the server.
By stopped, I mean, /stop, as in, the server is now down.
After some thought, I personally think that it was Polak using a different name to see what I would do in a situation of this kind. Did I pass?
