Hey, I got a great idea for a project on SMP,
A Giant Obsidian and Iron Block chessboard!

Supplies and total number of blocks for the chessboard
1 Tile = 16 by 16 blocks
1 Side = 128 blocks
Full Perimeter = 512 blocks
Full Area = 16,384
Obsidian Needed = 8,192
Iron Blocks Needed = 8,192

Chess Piece Info
Circular at the bottom
Need to be distinct shapes, so anyone can tell them apart.
Undecided size, of course smaller than 16x16.
The White pieces will be made of white wool, rather than Iron
The Black pieces will be made of black wool, rather than Obsidian
16 Pawns (8 White Wool, 8 Black Wool)
4 Rookes (2 White Wool, 2 Black Wool)
4 Knights (2 White Wool, 2 Black Wool)
4 Bishops (2 White Wool, 2 Black Wool)
2 Kings (1 White Wool, 1 Black Wool)
2 Queens (1 White Wool, 1 Black Wool)

Why are you making this?
I am planning on getting this gigantic chess board onto MachinimaRealm's Minecraft Craft Creations
I'd like to ask if I could use our the server's Youtube channel(if there is one to this date) so we can get a
bit of publicity as well as some new faces on the server!

What can I do to help?
I thought it over, and I might as well make a little team of maybe 3 or 4 dedicated people who could
work on it as much and as long as they can. I mean, it isn't very big, so we shouldn't take more than
maybe a day (real time) to finish the chessboard and pieces.

Where are you going to build this?
I was hoping to build the chess board in the portal to the left of the spawn, and out a bit.
There is nothing out that way except the Mossy Cobble towers.
